Beverley Kelly has had an extensive career in ladies' fashion as a model, instructor, designer, show coordinator, and retailer. The purpose of this book is to help the reader become aware of the image her wardrobe projects and to achieve this image within a reasonable budget. The information is principally directed to women returning to the work force and to professionals.

The author discusses how one's wardrobe creates a favourable first impression as one attempts to improve one's career opportunities. A further chapter "Re-entering the Workforce" talks about problems one encounters when returning to work and though of some interest, is not directly relevant to the author's stated purpose.

Further chapters "Analyzing Your Own Needs" and "Figure Analysis" give a simple outline of points one should consider in selecting one's garments. Line drawings accompany this section. Basic wardrobes built around the neutral, anchor colours, black, grey, navy, and brown are listed. A further chapter illustrates how one might expand these basic wardrobes still staying within the basic colour schemes.

Other chapters discuss makeup, hair care, and diet to help one feel attractive and confident in re-entering the work world.

This book, written in a casual, chatty style, could be read in less than an hour. It supplies simple selection techniques to help one gain confidence in her wardrobe selection. Most suitable for a general adult audience.
