"At an age when other normal young men were having nocturnal phantasies about the ideal girl, the author was waking up wet with excitement after a dream in which he lifted a fig leaf and found a brand new Titleist." As a sequel to The Joy of Hockey and The Joy of Football, Eric Nicol has turned his sights on the game of golf.

This most frustrating of games is a perfect subject matter for one of Nicol's best efforts yet. Only Eric Nicol could liken a golf green to a chastity belt: "five hundred yards of foreplay are frustrated by six inches of failed penetration." The illustrations by Dave More are excellent. Recommended for golfers and humour buffs.
